STEP BY STEP
How to resize an image
Add your image
Drop in a JPG, PNG, or WebP — or several at once if they all need the same size.
Choose how to measure
Type exact pixels, scale by percent, enter cm/inches for print, or set a KB limit. Or just click a preset like “Instagram post”.
Keep or unlock the ratio
The aspect-ratio lock is on by default so nothing gets stretched. Turn it off only when a slot demands an exact rectangle.
Download
Every result reports its real final width and height, so you can verify before saving.
REAL-WORLD USES
What people resize images for
Social media that crops you
Platforms squeeze whatever you upload into their slots. Resizing to the exact dimensions first means you control what gets seen, not the algorithm.
Printing at a real size
Enter 10×15cm and a print DPI, and the resizer works out the pixels for you — no mental math from centimeters to pixels.
Consistent product photos
Resize a whole batch to one size so your shop grid, catalog, or slideshow looks uniform instead of jumping around.
WHAT YOU GET
Image resizer features
Four ways to set size
Pixels for exactness, percent for quick scaling, cm/inches with DPI for print planning, and a KB target when the constraint is file size.
Ready-made presets
Instagram posts and stories, YouTube thumbnails, passport photos, A4 — each preset states its dimensions so you learn as you use it.
Batch with one rule
Apply the same size to many photos at once. With the ratio lock on, each photo keeps its own natural proportions.
Honest about enlarging
If you ask for a bigger size than the original, the tool warns you — stretched pixels can’t create real detail, and we say so upfront.
01 / FIELD NOTE
Pick the right measuring stick
One honest caveat about print: image files on the web don’t reliably carry physical-size information. The cm/inch mode calculates the correct number of pixels for your print size, which is what actually matters — but your print shop or software still decides the physical layout.
| Your goal | Use | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Fit a website or app slot | Pixels | Exactly the width and height you typed |
| A half-size copy | Percent | Both sides scaled by the same amount |
| A print of a known physical size | CM / inches + DPI | Pixels calculated from size × print sharpness |
| Beat an upload limit | File size (KB) | A file at or under your limit, or a clear explanation why not |
02 / FIELD NOTE
Making an image bigger vs. making it better
A resizer can stretch an image to more pixels, but the new pixels are blends of the old ones — fine for a mockup or a modest bump, not for genuinely recovering sharpness. If a small photo needs to look sharp at poster size, that’s a job for the AI Image Upscaler, which generates plausible new detail instead of averaging old pixels.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Image resizer FAQ
How do I resize an image without stretching it?
Leave the aspect-ratio lock on (it’s the default). Type one side and the other is calculated automatically, so faces and shapes keep their natural proportions.
Can I resize an image to a specific file size like 100KB?
Yes — the file-size mode compresses toward the KB number you set, resizing dimensions only if needed. For the common targets there are dedicated pages, like Compress Image to 100KB.
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it looking crisp — that direction is safe. Making it bigger can’t add detail; you’ll see a warning when you enlarge, along with a pointer to AI upscaling if you need true sharpness.
Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes. Guests can resize 3 images per batch with the same settings; a free account raises that to 20. Every image is processed on your device either way.
What are the size limits?
Each image can be up to 50MB and 60 megapixels. Output is capped at 40 megapixels on desktop (16 on mobile) so your browser never freezes mid-task.

Enlarging beyond the original?
Ordinary resizing can only stretch what exists. When a small or blurry photo has to look genuinely sharp at a larger size, use AI upscaling instead.
